Window Card Template

Greetings Cakettes!!!

Christmas is just around the corner and I really wanted to make a very special card for my beloved husband.. I already knew what collection of papers I was going to use... Since I first saw the "Enchanted Christmas" Collection by PaperMania I was in love..

As the name suggest, the collection has very "vintage" like images with a fairy tale theme thorughout..

Images such as this Gorgeous Saint Nicholas is what got my attention.. and I really had to create something with this collection..

My sweet sweet husband is the one who bought me the papers,  so they did have a special meaning.. Which is why I decided to make hubby's card with them...

When I looked at some of the papers, for some strange reason I kept thinking "window".

 Maybe is because that's what I wish I could see when I look out of my window around christmas time.. But whatever the reason, I knew I wanted "the window" to be my card..

And, as we all know, we can't always buy things that we picture in our creative little heads, so once again I have designed a template to match what I imagined... and this is what I have created...

Of course I had to use this santa, the images are die cuts, which is part of the same collection, they come from the decoupage kit. Just gorgeous!!!

This card is quite large, the final card folded just as you see above measures 7 1/2  inches by 5 1/4, which I found fit perfectly into a  C5 / A5 size envelope.

So you probably have noticed already, but this is a trifold card, which means it unfolds into three parts, this is what it looks like when you open the "window". I did add acetate to the window to make it more realistic.

And this is what the card looks like inside. I've kept it very plain ready for writing on.

   Because this card was so large, the template comes in two parts, both printed on an A4 size card, onepart is the window, and the other part is for the two other folds, which means the window front must be somehow attatched to the rest of the card. I used two layers to cover up the acetate and also where the card joins..

Once I was done with this card I decided to altere the tempalte and make a smaller card, and this is the card I have made...

This Fairy and tree are also die cuts from the same decoupage kit. I'm sure it's easy to see why I love this collection so much, all of the images are gorgeous and it was very hard to choose what to use now, I just wanted to make tons of cards so i could use them all!!!

So this template prints on 1 A4 sheet and the final card is a little smaller, it measures 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches, it would fit into a A6 size envelope.

Imagine, you open your window and that's what you see.. How magical!!!

Again, very simple on the inside, This time I didn't print an inside layer to cover up the acetate, so if you look close enough you can see the glue that's holding the acetate in place.. Oh well.. it is a handmade card after all and I am not looking for "production line perfection".

Here are the two cards together so that you can see the difference in sizes...

Mini Santa Suit Treat Box Template

Hello My Super Duper Cakettes!!!

   This time of the year, everywhere you go, you are constantly reminded that there are only a few weeks until Christmas.. Oh! the stress that comes with it.. All the things you need to do and haven't had the time to get started... Ever felt like that? I think a lot of us would answer yes to that question..

   I definitely feel like that when is getting close to Christmas.. Not only because Christmas is my favourite time of the year, but because i just want everything to be perfect all the time.. I always look for new ways to decorate.. And this year is no different..



   So a couple of years ago I saw in a magazine these adorable little square boxes decorated as Santa suit.. I really cannot find the picture from that magazine, but I know there is a lot of inspiration to be found on the web.. Anyway, I was really inspired and decided to make some for my Christmas lunch table...

   If you have seen my Halloween pillow box treat pouch, you might remember that I had designed a pillow box template, so all I had to do was perform some minor alterations to that template and I got myself some mini pillow boxes so that I can decorate for any other occasion....



    This is how I have decorated mine for Christmas....

I think these look super adorable just as pillow boxes, but just a piece of ribbon and a few embellishments and you can totally transform them into whatever you want!!!

   And remember they can be used for any occasion.. By choosing a different colour of cardstock and different embellishments, these can be completely personalised..

  

   These super cute snowman boxes are a good example of how you can decorate them differently..

   In fact You could even stamp (or write) names on them and use them as name place on your table.. and I am sure a little gift inside would be very much appreciated... :)

CupCake Handmade Gift Idea Template

Hellow Cakettes!!

So Christmas is fast approaching and it's always very helpful to have some stocking filler ideas...
Here's a quick, easy and inexpensive super duper cute idea!!!

It's a facial towel that looks like a cupcake.. Can you see why I love the idea?? :)

Anyway, this is not something I have just come up with.. I've actually seen Jonathan Fong (host of Style with a smile) made these a while a go and I just had to make some too!!!

So Jonathan, a big thanks to you for the inspiration!!! :)

So I have made mine in a Christmas theme.. But you can make them in any theme you like..

I have wrapped them in cellophane and tied a little ribbon..

It was so quick and easy to make these that I ended up making a few of them.. :)

Christmas Card With Gift

Hello My Dear Cakettes,

It's been a while since my last template, but here's another one especially for you!!

This is just another Christmas project I have created a template for.. It's basically a card with a gift, the gift being the tea candles...

 

I have made this project quite some time ago, but I have since seen red glittery tea candles, which would have been perfect for this card... Oh well.. Still looks really cute and makes for a super sweet gift..

 

To make sure I covered the lines from the template I have made an insert!!!

 

The ribbon is just some extra embellishment..

My Handmade Christmas Cracker Template

Ho Ho Ho Cakettes!!!!

   A couple of years ago, my Christmas tree decoration theme was metallic greens, purples, pinks and blues. Yes I do change the theme every year..

   Anyway, I wanted tiny little Christmas crackers to match, so I decided to create my own templates so   that I could make my own...

So this is what the crackers looked like...

Okay.. So they are a little bright..

But it did match my decoration... :)

And the best part is, you can add whatever you want inside them.. I chose Ferrero Rocher just because they are so yummy!!!

So this year I have decided to revisit my old template and create these little crackers to decorate my Christmas table...

Of course I had to use my favourite Christmas paper collection at the moment, the noel collection by Dovecraft.

   I believe this is a collection which was released last year, but I have been in love with it since...
   Everything I love about Christmas is in these papers.. From traditional Christmas scenes to snowflakes to vintage looking Santas.. Gotta love it...

    So when I designed the template, I had only designed the hexagonal shaped cracker but this year I have altered my original template so that i can have a traditional rounded cracker too.. So I've ended up with two templates.

   I think this year's Christmas crackers turned out really cute..

So this if the hexagonal shaped cracker, it's the first template I made all of those two years ago.. :)

The distressed edges give it more of a vintage look which I thought was perfect for the paper...

The glittery paper also helps with the final look. Love glitter!!! :)

And then of course, the traditional shaped crackers.. Simple rounded shape...

Still very cute though...

Snowflakes in a red "christmassy" paper.. Just beautiful....

And of course, the candy cane stripes.. who doesn't love those?

Christmas Stocking Advent Calendar

Hello Cakettes!!!

If like me you just love christmas, you probably like to count down the days until this very special time of the year.. So to help me and my husband to do that and have a little treat along the way, I have made us an advent calendar....

Of Course if I owned a sewing machine I would probably have done this with fabric, just because it would have been more durable, but for now I think paper will do the job just fine... :)

I wanted to be able to add a little treat to each day so this is what I have designed...

I have designed a template for the stockings, it consists of three parts, the stocking itself, the "fold" on top of the stocking and the "pocket".

   The plan is to have this "rope" of stockings wrapped around a christmas garland and decorate around the room. Right now it is too soon to decorate the house, so I guess I'll have to wait untill I can do that, but I am sure it will look very nice.

I have placed the stockings in an ascending order of numbers, but you could place the numbers randomly which would also be a lot of fun!!!!

In the last stocking I wrote XMAS using glitter glue, I just thought it needed extra sparkle as it is the day I look forward to the most through out the year.

And of course in this picture you can see that I can fit a small treat in each pocket.. Yum!! :)

To be able to do that, I have used a small cellophane bag between the stocking and the "pocket" cover

I'm pretty sure there are many different ways to do this, you just have to find the one works best for you...

My Bad..

Hello Cakettes..

So yesterday I had published a post about the opening of my store, and the reasons why I chose Zibbet and not Etsy... It appears I was badly mistaken.. One of my sweet Cakettes has sent me a message letting me know that Esty does have a category for supplies. The category is only for crafting supplies, but it seems I was mistaken and have given you guys the wrong information, so I wanted to rectify it...

Thanks to my sweet Cakette for letting me know, and I am sorry for telling you something inaccurate, I obviously did not look "into Esty" well enough...

I am still happy with Zibbet and hope you guys like the choice too.. but if that ever changes I now know that Etsy would also be an option.. :)

My Big Announcement and Cupon!!

Today's post is going to be about my big announcement!! YES!!! My online store is finally open!!!

I Feel like screaming with excitement!!! :) But I won't.. My windows might not survive... lol

I chose Zibbet, and if you are wondering why, well.. I haven't really had the time to finish my own website, so I had the choice between esty and zibbet, but when I started looking more into esty, I found out that you're only supposed to sell handmade items on there, and I might have a couple of other things for sale in the future (non-handmade) such as crafts supplies.. So.... I chose zibbet as my understanding is that I can sell handmade items as well as supplies..

 Now, I know you are probably thinking.. "I'm pretty sure I've seen people selling supplies on etsy", well.. those people aren't supposed to, if etsy finds accounts such as these, it's likely they would get closed down.. and I did not want to risk it..

So Since I have been using Zibbet, I have been really enjoying it.. The site is pretty easy to use and they don't have outrageous fees and charges as some other sites have.. so to me is working.. At least for now.. :)


Anyway.. Enough of that.. Some of you know that I have spent the whole of my summer break creating and making things.. so now it's time to reveal my yummy goodies.. I have got a bit of variety, but the store is mainly focused on charms at the moment.. I have tons of them for sale..

Halloween R.I.P. Coffin Treat box Template

Hello Cakettes!!!!

   Here is yet another Halloween project I have created to treat my sweet sweet husband..

   Another one of my husband's favourite is Jelly Beans, so of course I had to get him some.. But there was nothing "halloweeny!" about the packaging they come in, and I wanted to create something creepy, but cute to wrap those yummy beans...

   I had something in particular in mind.. I really wanted a box in a shape of a coffin so that I could decorate my way.. so when I couldn't find anything like it to buy, I decided to go ahead and make my own template... And this is what it looks like when I was done...

I have added texture to the top part of the box and decorated it with some very inexpensive spider web and plastic spiders...

I didn't bother do very much to the inside as I didn't feel it needed it, but if you feel differently remember that you can decorate yours however you want.. :)

Don't you just love the contrast between the dark grunge box and the colourful yummy sweets?

Halloween Pillow Box Treat Pouch Template

Hello Beloved Cakettes!!!!

With Halloween around the corner, it's time to get the those sweet treats ready... I don't have children, and actually no one really goes go trick or treating around the area I live, so the only person I have to think about is my husband..

I love giving him something on Halloween, and this year is no different.. The only thing I had to do is think of creative ways to "wrap" those treats.. So I have decided to create a little box to wrap some chocolate bars I bought for him... and because I had something in mind I decided to go ahead and create a template of what I wanted to do. So here's what I've come up with...

It's a pillow box which I have decorated in a Halloween theme..

I have also added a tag so I can write a little msg...

It was the perfect size to fit two average sized chocolate bars.. Galaxy is one of his favourites so it was a no brainer...  :)

The good news is I will be sharing the file with my sweet Cakettes!!! YEEEIIII!!! :)

Hello Cakettes !!!!!

You must be wondering what on earth is a Cakettes? Well... I am the host and founder of CraftsDotCupCake channel on YouTube, and to me it made sense to give my personal blog the same name...
  

   When I was writing this post I just really wanted to show my love and affection to my subscribers and followers by giving you all a very cute and adorable nickname, and Cakettes is what I have come up with... So I hope you all like it!!!! :D

  

   Today is a very exciting day for me and I hope for you too, because today I have finally started my piping hot new blog. It has taken forever and a day, but I am so excited!!!!

  

   I am a shy and very private person so starting a blog was a big deal for me... BUT.. Technology is pushing us towards new ways of living and we must adapt, right?

  

   I have actually been wanting to start a blog for a long time, but everything else always got in the way.. Well.. Maybe it was just an easy excuse to postpone it, but, here I am... Writing my first post hoping that at least one person out there is going to read it..

   So please excuse me for any mistakes or flows, I am new to this and promise I will get better!!


I will be sharing project ideas and some freebies very soon so stay tuned for that!!! :)
